Isn't this just the quintessential girl-and-her-horse picture?  Jill and Joyful were a lovely pair, as Joy for the first time in over a year carried a rider in a short session in the round pen, and then, the arena.

As Joyful is one of the only sound horses at TGC, I really hope to get Jill out a few more times to ride her.  Another photo of these two is at the bottom of this page.

....

Here's Jill riding her love and sponsored horse, Daphmar!  Although Daph is still not as strong as he was due to his snake bite injury in summer of 2007, he was very happy to have her up, and they rode for 20-30 minutes, and appeared to be very happy with each other.

Here Jill takes her life in her hands!  No really, Ronan was a doll, with Mike leading and Jill sitting quietly while he remembered how to carry a rider's weight. I"ve worked to have him accept a bareback pad and then a saddle, as I'd been told he exploded as soon as a saddle was on his back (not really accurate, but he did flinch a little) . Now I'll see how he likes a bit. So next time Jill visits, maybe I can turn them loose together.  Just in case anyone wonders why I don't ride him - let's remember I'm 40 pounds heavier than Jill!
