THANK YOU to Newport Coast Elementary 3rd grade Class Kids!

Early this year, I took in Daphmar.  His previous owner, Jill Phillips came out several times to be sure he was doing well, and brought with her Kristen Johnson, a teacher in Newport Coast.  These enthusiastic young women thought to present the Golden Carrot to Kristen's 3rd Grade class, and the kids were so interested, and concerned for the plight of these horses, that they worked their friends and families to pockets, and raised a donation of $550!  I was so thrilled that I invited them out for a BBQ, and rounded up several sponsors such as Anjeannette Martin (Shine); Sue Friley and her family (Josh) and of course Jill (Daphmar), to help wrangle this herd of happy kids. Here are some photos to show what went on....

The Barbeque begins - with Mike Roth at the grill, and every person for themselves at the tables loaded with Hotdogs, Hamburgers, Carrot Cake, Potato Salad, Chips, cookies, and drinks provided by Lynn Dunskey, Sue Friley, and Mike Roth.
